Desoto County Garbage Collection
September 14 – 15 Update
GARBAGE COLLECTION will resume Thursday, September 14th for the public roads that are safe for us to travel. We will NOT be traveling down ANY private roads until further notice. Each household will be allowed double the amount of garbage this Thursday, 9/14 and Friday, 9/15 and it must be bagged or canned. All cans and bags of garbage need to be placed at least 4 feet away from yard or construction debris. For the safety of our workers, we will not pick up garbage mixed with debris of any kind or within a 4 ft. radius. Each can or bag may not exceed 40 lbs. Due to the increased volume of garbage, routes will most likely be running later than usual.
PRIVATE ROADS NOTICE: We will NOT be traveling down any private roads until further notice. If you live on a private road, you must bring your canned or bagged garbage to the nearest County or State right-of-way until further notice.
YARD TRASH REMINDER: Brush day pick-ups will continue to follow our normal schedule. Each household is allowed 2 cans or tied bundles (no longer than 4 feet in length, 4 inches in diameter, and not weighing more than 40 lbs.) once per month. Addresses with NE, NW, and SE will be picked up the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Addresses with SW will be picked up the 1st Wednesday of each month. Womack Sanitation is not responsible for collecting storm debris. The County will provide updates on how storm related debris will be picked up and by whom.
